The "missing file" issue with exclamation marks happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. I would rather not do this as I store all my music in individual folders within the default Windows Music folder, and therefore do not want duplicate copies anywhere else.ĭoes anyone have any suggestions for fixing this conundrum? The only other suggestion I can find is to use the "Consolidate Files" utility, which will scan my entire hard drive for the original files and automatically store copies of the files into the iTunes Media folder. Nearly every guide I've found says that changing the iTunes Media folder location should solve this issue, however it was already changed to the new drive automatically. The problem that I'm running into now is that iTunes can no longer locate any of the original files, and I can't seem to find a guide which covers how to do this with my particular setup. One of the first things I did was move my Music folder by changing the target location from C:\User\Music to D:\User\Music, which worked exactly as intended. I recently installed a secondary hard drive to my Windows 10 PC in order to free up space on my solid state drive.
